Welcome to The Hitchin 10km. This race is unique because it is the only 10km in the known region that starts and finishes in a market square, giving this race a unique feel in that you are running amongst a historic setting with a cosmopolitan feel to it.
The course profile is classified as flat and it has one small climb.
The route itself is a beautiful one. It starts right in the town centre, with the first kilometer (the north loop) being on closed roads that go anti-clockwise around town, before heading out towards the Gosmore and Charlton villages to complete a clockwise south loop, before heading back into Hitchin, completing another 1km loop that you started on, and then that all famous Town Centre finish.
The town centre roads and roads leading out to Charlton are all closed, but once in the countryside these roads are not closed, but they are not busy and they are popular to use.
When you enter the race you know you are getting a great event.
You can enter the race here, which costs £16 if you do not want to get an event T-shirt, or you can pay £20 and this includes a T-shirt. We offer this option as we try to make this event as environmentally friendly as possible.
A medal comes as standard for all finishers. The event is chip timed too.
Upon signing up, you will get a confirmation of payment email for doing so, and then in the weeks building up to the event date, you will receive details on registration dates and timings.
