BurntHare was established in 2016 to bring fantastic events to the market town of Hitchin and surrounding Hertfordshire countryside. It has quickly established a series of great events on the yearly calendar and is looking to expand with lot’s of other sporting events. For established runners and clubs these are must do events, for beginners or those out for fun, the friendly local atmosphere is second to none. You’ll be cheered every step of the way by the local crowds and the awesome volunteers who support the local events

Had the pleasure of running the 10k event
Had the pleasure of running the 10k event in Hitchin last Sunday. It was brilliant to be able to run again with others after such a long gap. The event organisers certainly made sure we were kept safe and adhered to the rules.
The amazing marshals who gave up there time were so supportive and of course not forgetting the race director. All in all a brilliant event well planned and well executed will certainly do it again next year!

The race was a fantastic event
The race was a fantastic event. The Hitchin Hares did a fabulous job of creating a safe, fun event. The race took us through the quirky cobbles of Hitchin’s Town centre and the wonderful countryside that is on Hitchin’s doorstep as runners embarked on a loop of Charlton and Gosmore.
On a personal note, I was over the moon to win the race in my home town in front of my family.

The Hitchin 10k as expected was well received by the local community as well as participants from further afield; and was organised with safety in mind aligned to recommended guidelines, but not to the detriment of the fun carnival atmosphere. A lively town centre start and finish, coupled with a scenic course out into the local villages were standard trademarks; whilst organisers and marshals greeted you with a smile and words of encouragement. I’ll certainly be back next year, and I hope to be quicker!
